Marylin the dork!
Marylin makes a face that is funnier than hell. It's been impossible to get it on camera but I have finally captured it. She scrunches her little nose up and closes her eyes with a huge grin ... as seen in the pictures below.

Says "no" and nods "thank you"
Marylin has been able to shake her head "no" for quite a few months now but now she actually says it (if I say no, she'll copy me). She also nods her head (like "yes") when I ask her to say "thank you" or "say 'thank you mommy'"... the child is a sponge right now, I swear!

Been a while!
Well, it certainly has been a while since I updated Marylin's blog. All is going well with Miss Marylin. She is still growing like a little weed (mentally and physically). She has been getting much more daring in the walking department. She consistently lets go of furniture and balances only to break out in a big grin at her own success. I say she'll be taking her first steps by her first birthday - which is in a MONTH!!
I have a couple of great pictures of her stuck on my laptop but I'll be loading them soon. She has turned into such a little goof-ball. I just love her.

Marylin has the sniffles...
Marylin has the sniffles and I'm not really sure if it due to a cold or due to her getting her next two teeth. Poor baby. Either way, she cranky pants and not feeling well :(

Marylin's first doll...
Well, as I have said before, Marylin is crazy about eye lashes - it really drives me NUTS (esp. when it is 2 or 3 am). So we figured we'll have to buy her a doll that has eyes that open and close and has lashes so she can pick at those when she is falling asleep instead of mine. So off we went to Toys R Us to find her her first little doll.
Naturally I wanted to get her a doll that she liked, even though I wasn't exactly sure how to do that. So we found the dolls and I put her into the cart with a couple of them to see which ones she was drawn to. Let me tell you, babies are not stupid. They know exactly what they like and what they don't. After investigating all of her options (and yes, the eyes were the first thing she went for on each doll) she chose her doll. Just to make sure it was "the one" I kept trying to give her another one. Marylin eventually got tired of me testing her and tossed the doll she did not want right out of the cart. I guess I should have just trusted her the first time.
So with doll in hand I brought her home for her nap and did she cling to her little doll and obsess with her doll's eye lashes? Hell no, they weren't the same as mine. But she likes her doll when she is awake and I guess that's good enough for now.

"Ice Cream Please"
So the "Ice Cream Man" faithfully drives through our neighborhood everyday between about 4:15 to 4:30. That's right folks, I can almost set my clock to his ice cream truck tunes and, subsequently, Marylin awaking from her afternoon nap. One day (perhaps next summer), I will be setting my clock to Marylin screaming "ICE CREAM" and begging me for money for a cold afternoon treat . . . ahhhh, I can hardly wait!
